T20 fixture for Rank XI against some other team at Sandalwood Park in Brampton, Ontario. I scored 38 not out coming in at #3 as we posted 192/1 in 20. I had six boundaries in my knock after I entered in the 12th over and faced about 25 balls. Fours were hit over extra cover, pulled wide of mid on, clipped through midwicket, pull over midwicket, hook to fine leg on a bouncer (my favorite), glance to fine leg on a waist high full toss (everyone else’s favorite).
We bowled them out for 150 odd on the last ball. I came on in the 17th over and took a wicket first ball with my expert field placement as I insisted a short fine leg be put in place for a top edge and the batsman duly obliged by trying to sweep the first delivery. Two balls later I had the next man in stumped after he came down the track to hit me out of the ground and was beaten badly in flight.
It felt good to be on the field, my first match in two months. I’ve got a lot of energy to use for next season because none of it was used this year thanks to not being selected for any Sunday games by a certain club. Six months of intense training and practice coming up.
